A Day With Grandparents

Survived a whole day with my parents! We went to the San Jose Discovery Museum. It was way cool! Newborn was in a Baby Bjorn and toddler ran around with Daddy. And my mom and dad were also in tow. They are a little clueless but nice. My father is still recovering from his stroke so he moves slowly.

My husband made the observation that my mom tries to interact with BB#1 like he was a doll, moving his hands for him as if to teach him how to move and touch things. I've tried to explain to her that however Little Boy wants to manipulate the exhibits or use a fork or whatever is perfectly OK. There is no right or wrong. My mom tries but she sort of doesn't get what makes her way well....overbearing. *sigh* I don't even know if that is the right word for it. She loves her grandson but she doesn't really know how to interact with children.

The other briliant observation my husband made today was that having my parents in tow with their wandering and slowness and language barrier is like going to a museum with two more children. That's four kids in total. I laughed. My husband wants four children. He said "This is what it would be like."

Weight check: 132.5 lbs. 3 lbs in one week ain't so bad. I still feel FAT and I have this disgusting floppy deflated basketball looking belly flab. It's so gross.
